Special Town Board Meeting - Monday, December 29, 2008 - 8:00 am – Conference Room

Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 8:00 am. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Holden, Clerk Polyock. Supervisor Allis was absent. Also present were Hwy. Superintendent Jim Wolfgram, Chris Jones and Allan Polyock.

Holden/Palmer motion to approve the payment of bills. Carried without negative vote.

Wolfgram began the discussion about the possible purchase of a highway truck talking about the 1965 Oshkosh truck, calling it “old and tired”. When they used it this last time, a hose had broken and it caught on fire. Fortunately they put it out immediately and no one was hurt. Bollweg stated we need something better than what we have. Wolfgram had found a used airport truck for $139,000 which would end up with a total cost of about $200,000 once it was fitted. He would like to get a truck with an underbody blade on it. That was discussed. Purchasing a snow blower for the John Deere tractor was discussed. The discussion ended with asking Wolfgram to check financing and explore both trucks and a snow blower. It will be on January Town Board agenda.

Holden/Palmer motion to sponsor Dan Gerlitz to attend the police academy provided there is no cost to the Town. Carried without negative vote.

Weiss/Holden motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:35 am.

Respectfully submitted,

Sue Polyock, CMC/WCMC

Clerk/Treasurer
