Police Negotiations – Tuesday, December 13, 2011- 5:00 pm – Conference Room
Chairman Weiss called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Weiss, Supervisors Jones, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, Atty. Schiltz. Supervisor Woods was absent.
The police arrived at 5:15 pm. David Hendrickson represented them for the Union.
They had prepared the attached proposal for the Board. It included (1) an increase of $250.00 to the dental/optical plan and a desire to create a Healthcare Reimbursement Account (HRA) for members to utilize for this and other healthcare related expenses,
(2) a three (3) year agreement, (3) 2% raise across the board wage increases for each year of the agreement and creating a Sergeant position to be paid 5% above top patrol and a bargaining unit member.
The Board had asked for the clothing allowance money to be used for only replacement of articles in appendix B.
Police left and Board discussed: (1) keeping the dental/optical at $1,500 with an HRA (each pay period would get money to go into the HRA, (2) 3 year agreement, (3) 2% raise across board for each year of the agreement and no sergeant position. For the uniform allowance anything that is not on the list must be approved by the Town Board.
This was presented to the police and they went out to discuss.
The Union agreed to $1,500 dental/optical HRA account but want it paid in two (2) payments in 2012 – Jan 1 st and July 1 st. From 2013 forward it can be quarterly. Three year contract and wages are OK. They will drop the request for a sergeant and they want to keep the uniform allowance the same as it has been.
The following was agreed to: Insurance $1,500 to HAS or HRA with 2 contributions in 2012 and the following years quarterly. A three year agreement. Wage increase of 2% across the board for each year. The uniform allowance to be approved by the Chief, but anything not on the list the Board must be informed
