Budget Workshop-Wednesday, November 9, 2011 – 5:00 pm-Conference Room

Chairman Weiss called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Present at roll call were Weiss, Supervisors Jones, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, CPA Pat Romenesko. Supervisor Woods was absent. There were six (6) others present.

Pat Romenesko passed out two (2) budget sheets. One was a balanced budget that Chairman Weiss has presented. The Board used this sheet, discussed and reviewed.

Weiss believes now is the time to construct a new highway shop rather than sinking money in the old buildings. It would make the complex a U-shape with the parking inside. The doors to exit would be facing Zenda Road. The approximate cost would be $750,000 and the thought is to take $500,000 out of reserves and to borrow $250,000 over 30 months with an estimate 3% interest rate. The contingency fund could be used for the debit service payment. We are scheduled to purchase a fire truck in 2014 so the debt would be paid off by then.

The ditches by the boat launch were not done this year, so we need to put $5,500 into the designated funds to fix them next year.

The mill rate will remain the same as last year for the Town at $1.285/thousand. The Budget Hearing and Town Meeting will be set for Monday, November 28 th at 6:30 pm.
