Budget Workshop-Tuesday, November 1, 2011 – 1:00 PM-Conference Room

Chairnan Weiss called the meeting to order at 1:15 PM. Present at roll call were Weiss, Supervisors Jones, Woods, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, CPA Pat Romenesko. There were four others present.

Romenesko reviewed that the Town is allowed to increase the budget dollar amount from last year $8,684.00 Weiss stated the goal is to have the same mill rate.

Supervisor Jones stated that she would like a capital outlay account for the Town Hall. Items for this account would be a roof repairs and shingles on the highway shop (flat roof building and building facing Town Hall). Sidewalk repair is needed in front of the Town Hall. This will require engineering fees because of ADA accessible.

At this time a 2% raise was plugged into the budget for non-union employees.

Money needs to be added to engineering for the drainage issue in Zenda. The Board opted to put $100,000 in the road construction fund and asked to note that it was for the drainage project.

At this time the Board felt it was not a good time to hire a new full time highway person. The Highway Committee had recommended taking both the tractor and truck out of the budget. The Board felt the money could go into the highway equipment replacement fund at his time.

The Board then went through page by page for any clarification or changes.

There was $1,000 plugged in for a website update. ADT Security system will be plugged in for the firehouse. The alarms will be put in yet this year, but $68.17/month to monitor.

The Board will meet Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at 5:00 pm to finish budget.

Holden/Jones motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 3:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
