Regular Town Board Meeting-Monday, September, 14, 2009 – 7:00 PM-Linn Town Hall
Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, Atty. Schiltz. There were seven (7) citizens in attendance.
Holden/Allis motion to approve the meeting minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Holden motion to approve payment of the bills totaling $185,339.28. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Holden motion to put John’s Disposal request for an increase on next month’s agenda have Atty. Schiltz review the contract. Carried.
Comments from the public: Jay Lloyd, owner of Shifters Bar, stated others that serve liquor have parking close to the road and he feels like he is being singled out. He stated all should be the same.
Plan Commission: Supervisor Weiss reported the Geneva Lake Development Corporation is coming back because of some “housekeeping”; a small sliver of land was not re-zoned. Weiss/Palmer motion to re-zone from M-3 to C-2 to add to the current residential use of Lot 1 CSM 1878 as requested by Geneva Lake Development Corporation. Carried without negative vote.
Matthew & Mary Polyock are asking for a conditional use and re-zone of 4.86 acres to use as a surface grain storage pad. Weiss/Holden motion to approve re-zone from A-1 to A-4 the 4.86 acres and approval of a conditional use to allow for grain storage on the parcel as requested by Matthew and Mary Polyock. Carried without negative vote.
The Conlon’s are asking for a variance for an existing sports court. Weiss/Bollweg motion to grant the variance requested by Cynthia Conlon for her existing sports court. Carried without negative vote.
Steve Snudden is asking for a variance for an existing addition on his dairy barn. The setback is 82.5’ for the existing building. Weiss/Holden motion to grant the variance request of Steve Snudden. Carried, Mike Palmer abstained.
Protective Services – Chairman Bollweg stated the committee met and the only thing the Board needed to act on was the Fire Inspector class. Bollweg/Weiss motion to send two members of the Fire Department to Fall Fire Inspector Class Nov. 3 rd – 6 th. Carried without negative vote.
Highway Committee: no meeting
Harbor Commission: no meeting
Buildings & Grounds: no meeting
Public Parks: The garden club has given a grant for 4 trees to be planted around the pavilion. The ad for mowing bids is in the newspaper.
Geneva Lake Environmental Agency – will be meeting Thursday night
Bollweg/Holden motion to adopt the Ordinance to repeal and recreate Section 9-7 relating to speed limits. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Allis motion that anyone using the credit card must provide a written request and approval before getting the card from the Town Clerk. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Palmer motion to establish a minimum bid of $10,000 for the 1984 Ford Fire Truck and $500 for the 1966 Panel Truck, have Jeff Miskie take photos and put the trucks on Wisconsin Auction. Carried without negative vote.
The Board tabled any action on the highway truck to be sold.
Their was discussion about parking in front of Shifters Bar. Bollweg wanted it referred to the Protective Services committee. Chief Wisniewski had distributed a drawing showing where parking should be restricted with a yellow line designation. Jay Lloyd, owner, has purchased signs indicating motorcycles only. Weiss/Palmer motion to approve temporary parking as approved by Chief Wisnieski, sign to state motorcycle parking only and Jay Lloyd should work with the protective services committee and Attorney Schiltz. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Bollweg motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
