Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, August 14, 2006 – 7:30 pm – Linn Town Hall
Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Jones, Holden, Clerk Polyock, Atty. Schiltz. There were eight (8) citizens present.
Jones/Palmer motion to approve the minutes of the Special Town Board meeting and the Regular Town Board meeting both on July 10, 2006. Carried unanimously.
Weiss/Palmer motion to pay the bills as presented including the additional bills distributed at the meeting. Carried without negative vote.

Plan Commission: Supervisor Weiss reported on the Daukus variance. The garage already exists. Weiss/Holden motion to recommend approval as recommended by the plan commission. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Jones motion to recommend approval to amend an existing conditional use for Geneva Project LLC to concur with the plan commission approval. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss explained that the Plan Commission approved the final plat of Meadow View Estates LLC subject to mutual satisfaction of addressing all of the issues brought forward. The Board discussed the items in a letter from Graef, Anholt & Schloemer dated 8/14/2006. The Board wants to make sure there are no violations of the CREP program. Weiss/Jones motion to approve the final plat of Meadow View Estates subject to including but not limited to a letter from Graef, Anholt & Schloemer dated 8/14/2006. Carried with Mike Palmer voting no.
Protective Services: nothing
Highway: no meeting
Harbor Commission: Supervisor Palmer commented on the passing of John Fraser. The Town Launch will surely miss him as he was very dedicated and well liked by all who launched boats at Linn Pier. Palmer/Holden motion to approve spending $9,000 to install new cribs at Robinson Pier. Carried without negative vote.
Buildings & Grounds: Supervisor Holden reported gutters will be installed and soffet vents will be added to the soffet. Holden/Jones motion to donate the old folding chairs to the Big Foot Lions Club. Carried without negative vote.
Public Parks: Supervisor Jones reported the committee met on July 8 th. Jones/Holden motion to approve $240 out of miscellaneous to pay for spraying of weeds by the silos. Carried without negative vote.
Jones/Palmer motion to spend $1,240 for plaques and flower beds. Carried without negative vote.
Jones/Holden motion to accept a donation of $3,600 from the Lake Geneva Garden Club. Carried without negative vote.
Jones/Weiss motion to use the donation for four (4) flower beds and trees. Carried without negative vote. Jones said because of the Holiday, the next meeting will be on September 6, 2006 at 7:00 pm for a budget workshop.
Action Items: Holden/Jones motion to hire Juan Ortiz under contract as a part-time Linn police officer. Carried without negative vote.
Palmer/Holden motion to accept Johns Disposal toter system for the duration of the contract. Carried without negative vote.
Holden and Jones researched creating a swimming pool ordinance. 99% of the people they contacted had no problem not having a fence. They stated they would put up a fence if they heard from a neighbor that there was a problem. They found no one was in favor of an ordinance and believe it is the homeowner’s responsibility. Holden/Jones motion that we do not have a swimming pool fence ordinance at this time. Carried, Bollweg voting no.
Palmer/Jones motion to adopt the Fire Number Sign Ordinance. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Palmer motion to adopt the resolution entering into a lease agreement with the United States Postal Service. Carried without negative vote.
Jones/Holden motion to waive the first reading and adopt the ordinance Section 2.05 Municipal Court. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss/Holden motion to table the revaluation contract for 2007 with Associated Appraisal Consultants. Carried without negative vote.
Jones/Weiss motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
