Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, July 13, 2009 – 7:00 pm – Linn Town Hall

Supervisor James Weiss called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present at roll were Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, Atty. Schiltz. Chairman Bollweg was absent. There were six (6) people in attendance.

Holden/Allis motion to approve the minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.

Palmer/Allis motion to approve the payment of bills as presented. Carried without negative vote.

Comments from the public: David Kronwall spoke in opposition to the repeal of Ordinance Section 12-4B relating to building permits. This would mean if you were to replace cabinets in your house you would need a permit. What comes next – permit to mow lawn?

Doris Roan said she agrees with David Kronwall.

Plan Commission: no meeting

Protective Services: no meeting – Put disposal of trucks #3360 & #3361 on next months agenda

Highway Committee: no meeting

Harbor Commission: Supervisor Allis reported Commission had met and everything is going well.

Buildings & Grounds: no meeting

Public Parks: Supervisor Palmer reported that trees have been planted. The area that was clear cut has been seeded. The Committee would like to use the money that was set aside for the schoolhouse for trees in the park. Palmer/Holden motion to reallocate the school house funds for tree planting. After discussion, an amended motion was made. Palmer/Holden amend the motion to reallocate $5,000 of the schoolhouse funds for planting trees. Carried without negative vote.

Geneva Lake Environmental Agency – Palmer reported that the gypsy moths seem somewhat under control. Donations to the Agency are down.

Holden/Palmer motion to table the Ordinance relating to building permits until the August meeting. Carried without negative vote.

Request from Steve Snudden for an amendment to his conditional use. Atty. Schiltz stated this needed to go before the Plan Commission for a public hearing. Weiss/Holden motion to refer Steve Snudden’s request for an amendment to his conditional use to the Plan Commission. Carried, Palmer abstain.

Palmer/Holden motion to approve the agreement with the Town of Geneva regarding the storm siren on the North shore. Carried without negative vote.

Chief Rasch informed the Board the Fire Grounds Strategy class would cost a total of $200 and the amount was in the budget. Holden/Palmer motion to approve sending 4 members to the class. Carried without negative vote.

Allis/Palmer motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
