Joint Plan Commission/Town Board Meeting – Monday, June 20, 2011 – 6:00 pm- Linn Town Hall
Chairman Weiss called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Present at roll call from the Plan Commission was Weiss, Peter Borgo, Tom Gardiner, Larry Liebovich, and Denise Sheldon. Absent were Cully Pillman and Jeanne Allis. Present from the Town Board was Weiss, Greg Holden, Christine Jones, Terry Woods arrived late. Jeanne Allis was absent.
Matthew & Mary Polyock are applying for a re-zone from A-1 to A-4 to give the proper set back for the farm storage shed that was previously approved. This is something the Count Zoning department has asked for. There was one person in the audience that spoke in favor of this re-zone. No one spoke against. Plan Commission: Gardiner/Liebovich motion to approve the re-zone from A-1 to A-4 as presented. Roll call vote, all aye.
Town Board: Jones/Holden motion to approve the re-zone from A-1 to A-4. Carried without negative vote.
Jeanette Polyock, owner, Jacob Polyock, applicant is asking for approval of a driveway that cuts into A-1 land and also an amendment to an existing conditional use which presents a new site plan. The driveway is existing and the County Zoning does not want it to cut into A-1 zoning as it does. Jake explained that it is used 50/50 for the elevator and his brother for farm equipment. His new site plan shows a complete build up of his elevator site. It is a long range outlook, but keeps him from having to apply every time he puts up a bin. He has been approved for five (5) bins and is now asking for a total of fourteen (14) of various sizes. There was much discussion about the number of bins and asking the applicant to come back in three years for a review. Two (2) people in the audience spoke in favor of the amendment to the conditional use. No one spoke against.
Plan Commission: Gardiner/Weiss motion to approve the plan as presented but he must come back within three (3) years or when two (2) new bins are constructed for review and also send a letter that the driveway is acceptable in its current location. After discussion about checking with the Town Attorney, Gardiner withdrew his initial motion. Gardiner/Liebovich motion to approve the driveway letter and an additional 78’diameter bin as shown on the diagram. Roll call vote – all aye Town Board: Jones/Woods motion to approve a 78’diameter bin and a letter stating that the driveway in the existing spot is acceptable. Carried without negative vote. Jake was told to come back next month for the full site plan as they would check with Atty Schiltz.
Weiss/Liebovich motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:05 pm.
