Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, June 12, 2006 – 7:30 pm – Linn Town Hall

Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. Present at roll call were Supervisors Palmer, Jones, Holden, Chairman Bollweg, Clerk Polyock, Atty Schiltz. Supervisor Weiss was absent. There were seven (7) citizens present.

Chairman Bollweg presented a plaque in appreciation for the paintings of the Town Park by George Gootsan. He donated four paintings, one of each season that are hanging in the conference room.

Jones/Holden motion to approve the minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.

Jones/Palmer motion to pay the bills as distributed. Carried without negative vote.

County Report: Supervisor Polyock reported that Lakeland Health Center will be ready for occupancy late this month. The Lakeland School project is having some “bumps in the road”.

Plan Commission: Supervisor Jones reported the Plan Commission unanimously approved the variance request of Naomi & Peter Saladin as they had returned from last month with the revisions requested. Jones/Holden motion to approve the variance request of Naomi & Peter Saladin, ICI 00048, as recommended by the Plan Commission. Carried without negative vote.

Protective Services: Chairman Bollweg reported the committee met last Wednesday. Fire Chief Rasch has requested to re-bid the back-up generator only 1 bid was received and other vendors felt they did not have ample time to prepare a bid. Holden/Jones motion to re-bid the back-up generator to be located at the Fire/EMS building. Carried without negative vote.

Highway Committee: no meeting

Harbor Commission: no meeting

Buildings & Grounds: no meeting

Public Parks: Supervisor Jones reported the committee is working on playground equipment and trail maps. There will be no meeting in July because of the holiday.

Action Items: Jones/Palmer motion to hire Rich Kreesen as a Town of Linn part-time police officer. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Jones motion to adopt the recycling compliance assurance plan. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Jones motion to approve the liquor license list as posted and distributed. Carried without negative vote (see attached)

Atty. Schiltz brought three (3) sample ordinances for fencing in swimming pools and is looking for in-put from the Board. Jones and Holden volunteered to work with Schiltz on putting together an ordinance. Jones/Holden motion to have Jones and Holden work with Atty. Schiltz on a fencing ordinance for swimming pools. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Jones motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
