Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, June 8, 2009 – 7:00 PM – Linn Town Hall

Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Atty. Schiltz, Clerk Polyock. There were eight (8) people in attendance.

Holden/Palmer motion to approve the minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.

Allis/Holden motion to approve payment of the bills as presented totaling $357,248.26. Carried without negative vote.

Comments from the public: Allan Polyock commented about the salaries the police are asking for in their new contract. He hopes the Board will act accordingly with the way the economy is going.

Plan Commission: no report

Protective Services: Chairman Bollweg reported that the committee met and approved the Fire Dept.’s request to use the monies made from the Pig & Corn Roast fundraiser to purchase a pick-up truck to replace Car 1. Chief Rasch explained they would just like to be able to state what the money made will be used for. They will look at the particulars after the fundraiser and they see what they have made. Weiss/Allis motion to allow Pig & Corn Roast fundraiser money to buy a pick-up. Carried without negative vote.

Discussion about selling 3360 (1984 equipment truck) and 3361 (dive truck). The Board felt using the WI Surplus Auction with a reserve amount stated would work well. Weiss/Holden motion to table sale of equipment for further information brought to the next meeting. Carried without negative vote.

Harbor Commission: Supervisor Allis stated that her committee met and went over the improvements that have been made. At Linn Pier the retaining wall was moved, and at Robinson Hillside beautification is going on. The launch attendants have received new T-shirts and caps. Revenues have had a slow start due to an early Memorial Day and weather.

Buildings & Grounds: no report

Public Parks: Supervisor Palmer reported the committee had met. They are looking into getting reseeding done and spraying the buckthorn. The Committee is asking for donations for new trees. Palmer wants the Highway crew to clean up the Park along Maple Ridge Road. Palmer stated the sign is up showing where the Linn Park Restoration project is located. There has been a request for a shorter walking trail.

Geneva Lake Environmental Agency: no report

Discussion on the Ordinance regulating hours of construction centered around leaving it alone. It would be very challenging to enforce. Bollweg/Allis motion to table the Ordinance. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Weiss motion to approve the liquor license renewals as published. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Palmer motion to table promoting Officer Gerlitz from part-time to full-time position until union negotiations are complete. Holden/Palmer amended the motion to table until next month when the Board can have a budget review. Carried, Bollweg voted no.

Weiss/Palmer motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 pm.
