Regular Town Board Meeting-Monday, May, 10, 2010- 7:00 pm – Linn Town Hall
Acting Chairman Weiss called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. Present at roll call was Weiss, Supervisors Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, and Atty. Schiltz. There were approximately forty two (42) citizens present.
Holden/Allis motion to approve the minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Allis motion to approve the bills as presented including the additions presented tonight. Carried without negative vote.
Randy Hawkins, County Supervisor, introduced Josh Clements. He is the Walworth County agent for Community, Natural Resources and Economic Development (CNRED).
His position was created to deal with small business. His role is to connect the individuals with the State resources. He is also working with the planning and zoning department.

Plan Commission: Supervisor Weiss reported that Atty. John Maier presented the revised condominium plat for Bonnie Brae Condominiums which reflects the new R-3 zoning. Weiss/Allis motion to approve the revised condominium plat for Bonnie Brae Condominiums as recommended by the plan commission. Carried without negative vote.
Protective Services: Weiss/Holden motion to approve the bid from Ewald Automotive Group for $22,098.00 Carried without negative vote.
The Fire Department is asking to obtain bids for a new pick-up truck to bring back to the Protective services committee. They will contribute $13,000 from 2% money and $4,000 from donated funds. Holden/Palmer motion to allow Fire Chief Rasch to seek bids for a new pick-up truck. Carried without negative vote.
Allis/Palmer motion to approve the resolution for additional life insurance through the Group Life Insurance Program. Carried without negative vote.
Highway Committee: Amon was the only bid received for the road work. Holden/Allis motion to approve the bid submitted by Amon for $185,417.05 to complete the road work presented. Carried without negative vote.
There were two companies that bid on the crack filling. Fahrner bid was $25,147 and Crack Filling Service was $23,500. Holden/Allis motion to approve the bid from Crack Filling Service for $23,500. Carried without negative vote.
The Bluebird Road drainage project should cost not more than $8,000 so the highway department requests to do it without bids. Holden/Palmer motion to reconsider last month’s motion to advertise for bids for the Bluebird Road drainage project. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Palmer motion to do the Bluebird Road drainage project without bidding. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Allis motion to reconsider Class B highway posting. Carried, Palmer voting no.
Holden/Allis motion to remove the Class B signs on the roads that were posted last month. Supervisor Palmer asked that the Town engineer give a report on the roads that were posted. Atty. Schiltz stated that the ordinance will need to be revised. Carried, Palmer voting no.
Dan Giffin was given information and a dollar amount to bring the roads in Lake Geneva Terrace up to Town standards.
Harbor Commission: Supervisor Allis stated they met Tuesday. Launches will be at full staff this weekend. The employees are painting the piers.
Building & Grounds: no meeting
Public Parks: moving forward on trails, signage & bridges
Geneva Lake Environmental Agency: Palmer reported the Agency is looking into the paint chip issue. They are looking to move forward by drafting an Ordinance and bring it to all the communities to adopt.
The Lake Geneva Country Club received pier permits to construct two (2) new piers on Geneva Lake. Because of the steep bank, they have no way to access these piers without stairways. Allis/Holden motion to approve request to construct two (2) additional stairways to access the shore. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Allis motion to approve the pier permit for David Brown as recommended by the building inspector. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Palmer motion to approve the pier permit for Lake Geneva Partners, LLC as recommended by the building inspector. Carried without negative vote.
Holden/Allis motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
