Annual Meeting – Tuesday, April 10, 2007 – 8:00 PM – Linn Town Hall

Present were Chairman David Bollweg, Supervisors James Weiss, Michael Palmer, Christine Jones, Gregory Holden, Clerk/Treasurer Sue Polyock. Attorney David Schiltz and eighteen (18) citizens.

Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order and read the Order of Business. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The clerk read the minutes of the last annual meeting. Becky Merwin/Christine Jones motion to approve the minutes as read. Carried by voice vote. The clerk then read the minutes of the November 20, 2006 Town meeting. Thomas Jacobs/Becky Merwin motion to approve the minutes as read. Carried by voice vote.

Thomas Jacobs/Ken Struck motion to dispense with the reading of the financial report and accept the report as distributed. Carried by voice vote.

Jim Livingston gave the Sanitary District report. He stated the web page has the agendas and minutes of past meetings. A link can be found on the Town’s web page. The District meets on the 2 nd Wednesday of each month. The septic inspections have all been finished and there were 1,323 systems inspected. These parcels will become part of Walworth Counties three (3) year rotation and reminders will be sent to have the systems pumped. Jim fielded some questions from those present.

Old Business: none

New Business: Becky Merwin proposed the following resolution: “Be it resolved that we the town electors of the Town of Linn, being duly assembled at the annual meeting on April 10, 2007, do hereby authorize the Town Board of the Town of Linn to rename Linton Road to Old Highway BB or just Hwy BB from the flashing stop signs of South Lakeshore Drive and Willow Roads to Academy and County B at the cost not to exceed $5,000 to cover costs of signs, and pursuant to Section 60.10 (2)(e) of Wisconsin Statutes.” Becky Merwin/Ken Struck motion to approve the resolution. There were comments to both sides of the issue. Those wanting the change commented on having to change business forms, web page, banking forms, etc. Attorney Shiltz stated it is not a power of the Town meeting and will merely be an advisory motion to the Town Board. By hand vote – 11 aye 7 nay

James Weiss/Sue Polyock motion that the next Annual Meeting be held on April 8, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Linn Town Hall. Carried by voice vote.

Thomas Jacobs/Christine Jones motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.
