Special Joint Plan Commission/Town Board Meeting – Monday, April 6, 2009 – 6:30 pm Linn Town Hall
Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. Plan Commission members present were Chairman Jim Weiss, Dave Bollweg, Peter Borgo, Cully Pillman, Tom Gardiner. Denise Sheldon and Larry Liebovich were absent. Town Board members present were Bollweg, Weiss, Mike Palmer, Jeanne Allis and Greg Holden. Clerk Polyock and Ted Peters, Lake Geneva Environmental Agency was also present. There were six (6) citizens in the audience.
Craig DeYoung is requesting a variance to permit the location of existing structures upon rezoning. He explained that nothing has changed with his project. Going with B-4 zoning has changed the set back requirements, so a variance is needed. Plan Commission: Pillman/Bollweg motion to approve the variance requested. Roll call vote all affirmative. Motion carries 5 – 0.
Town Board: Holden/Palmer motion to approve. Carried without negative vote.
Weiss stated that Jacob Polyock had appeared before the Plan Commission March 23, 2009 and received approval. The project requires a variance for the leg elevator and grain bins. Weiss/Bollweg motion to approve the variance request of Jacob Polyock as recommended by the Plan Commission. Carried without negative vote.
Ted Peters presented the ground water study results. He thanked Madeline Gotkowitz for her support and putting together the presentation. She went far beyond the minimum. He also stated that this study looks at high capacity wells and not the individual residential wells.
John Kivlin is currently working with John Engerman to install a solar system at his office. Currently the County has no ordinance, but they are working on one. He is asking that the Ordinance does not make it prohibitive for the homeowner to install a solar system. Greg Holden is on the committee at the County and says they have had input from many, including Mr. Kivlin, and are taking this input to come up with a workable ordinance.
The Board and Plan Commission should submit their comments on the County zoning uses to the Clerk/Treasurer.
Weiss/Holden motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm.
