Regular Town Board Meeting – Monday, March 8, 2010-7:00 pm-Linn Town Hall

Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present at roll call were Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock, Atty. Schiltz. There were approximately thirty-five (35) citizens in attendance.

Holden/Palmer motion to approve the minutes as distributed. Carried without negative vote.

Palmer/Holden motion to approve the bills including the additional list that was given to the Board tonight. Carried without negative vote.

Before the comments from the public portion started, Atty. Schiltz stated that the Board was working on a settlement agreement with Officer O’Brien. There was requested language change so the settlement should be completed late week.

Comments from the public:

Plan Commission – no meeting

Protective Services – Supervisor Weiss stated the committee met and acted on various issues. The Town now offers basic group life insurance. There is a provision with the State that the employee may purchase additional insurance with a payroll deduction. The committee felt this benefit to the employee is reasonable and acceptable. Weiss/Allis motion to direct Atty. Schiltz to have a resolution prepared for the April meeting. Carried without negative vote. Direct deposit was brought up to the committee and all were in favor of this. The Board asked Weiss to look into the steps and costs to implement direct deposit. Palmer/Holden motion to table until Weiss could bring the Board more information. Carried without negative vote. The fire department is asking to install at least three dry hydrants. They have identified seven locations with the ones they are working with the vendor are Swamp Angel Road, East Valley Park, Elgin Club, and the Robinson boat launch. Weiss/Bollweg motion to approve bidding for the dry hydrants not to exceed $15,000 total. Carried without negative vote.

Highway Committee: no meeting

Harbor Committee: will begin meeting in May Allis/Holden motion to leave the fees the same as 2009 for seasonal and daily boat launch in 2010. Carried without negative vote. Allis/Weiss motion to have no increase in the 2010 boat slips rental fees. Carried without negative vote. Allis/Weiss motion to have no increase in the commercial launch fees. Carried without negative vote.

Buildings and Grounds: no meeting

Public Parks: the matching grant is going along on schedule. Will be putting the bid notice for bridges in the paper.

GLEA: met and talked about donations being down, road salt going in the lake and erosion control around the lake.

Weiss/Allis motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:35 pm.
