Special Town Board Meeting – Monday, January 19, 2009 – 5:00 pm – Conference Room

Chairman Bollweg called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Present at roll call were Chairman Bollweg, Supervisors Weiss, Palmer, Allis, Holden, Clerk Polyock. Also present were Hwy. Superintendent Jim Wolfgram, Time Rasch and Reporter Steve Targo.

Jim Wolfgram stated the truck he has been looking at and discussing with the Board about would be a total price of $202,497. Jim said he could trim his budget by not purchasing the pick-up truck in the 2009 budget and reducing the highway maintenance by $50,000.00. There will also be additional monies by selling the Oshkosh and pick-up that was replaced in the 2008 budget. There was much discussion about the timing of the purchase of the truck and where the money should come from for the purchase. Palmer/Weiss motion to have Wolfgram and Bollweg go to Milwaukee to check the truck out and if it is OK put $47,164 as a down payment.

The motion was then amended to Palmer/Weiss motion to purchase the 1996 truck contingent upon inspection by Wolfgram and Bollweg. The money would come from $47,164 truck replacement, $50,000 out of highway maintenance, and the balance out of undesignated funds. Carried, Holden voted no.

The Post Office lease is good until Oct. 29, 2010. They will not renew the lease for the trailer. Their needs are an 800 square foot building. The Board discussed having a five to ten year guaranteed plan. The location would be within the Town complex area. Weiss/Allis motion to direct Chairman Bollweg to find out if the Board can get a commitment guarantee in writing, are they willing to pay market value of rent, and who is responsible for utilities, insurance, and such. Carried without negative vote.

Holden/Bollweg motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 5:53 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
